PB COMMUNITY IMPACT FUND, LLC

PB Community Impact Fund (PBCIF) was organized and certified as a Community Development Entity (CDE) in 2020. We applied for and received our first New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation in 2021.  Our immediate success in receiving an allocation is due to the tremendous work being done by our parent company, Peoples Bank. Through PBCIF, Peoples Bank utilizes the NMTC program enacted by Congress in 2000 to incentivize private investment in low-income, underserved communities.  PBCIF’s NMTC service area includes the four-state area of Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas which, collectively, have some of the most financially underserved areas of the country.

OUR STORY

Peoples Bank was founded in 1908 in Mendenhall, Mississippi. From the very beginning, our focus has been on servicing our community and treating others the way we would like to be treated.  As we have grown over the years, both in size and reach, our focus has not wavered.  Whether our customer is next door, or five states over, our goal is the same; unparalleled service and competency.

In 1994, Congress created the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund to encourage financial institutions to focus their mission on providing capital to economically distressed areas of the country.  Peoples Bank became certified as a CDFI in 2014 and has proudly embraced the CDFI Fund’s mission of taking a market-based approach to supporting economically disadvantaged communities.  By providing affordable capital to consumers and businesses we are living out our mission to promote economic growth in the communities we serve.
